kolo
Kolo, led by Vladyslav Demonenko, World Vice Champion in Coffee in Good Spirits and Ukrainian Brewers Cup Champion, brings a competition calibrated, producer first approach. Lightly roasted single origin coffees read clean and bright, experimental releases stay measured, labels are clear and lot specific.
Background
Founded in Berlin by Vladyslav Demonenko, Kolo is a competition-minded roastery with a simple purpose, to unite people through an extraordinary coffee experience. Demonenko brings a strong pedigree as World Vice Champion in Coffee in Good Spirits and Ukrainian Brewers Cup Champion, and the name Kolo, meaning “circle” in Ukrainian, underscores a community focus. The style is producer first and lot specific, with light roasting to keep sweetness, clarity, and place in front, and a coffee bar on Brunnenstraße gives a direct window into the range.

Panel evaluation
Tastings show a bright, tidy cup shape with sweetness up front and a clear line of acidity that holds as the coffee cools. Classic washed lots feel composed and precise, while competition releases and fermentation driven coffees bring vivid aromatics yet mostly stay inside a clean frame so variety and place remain easy to read. Bags and product pages keep the producer visible with concise details on variety, process, harvest, and lot, which makes it simple to trace the cup back to the farm. The range leans a bit too heavily toward highly processed coffees at times, and the roastery is still relatively young, which together keeps it short of a higher distinction for now.

Berlin
Kolo coffee klcf shop in Berlin is a calm, stripped-back bar where pale walls, clean lines and a low, central counter create a focused but welcoming room around the coffee. At the bar, a tight menu built around espresso, filter and competition-level lots makes it feel like a small showroom for Kolo’s most expressive coffees.
