Fjord
Born from Silo and Father Carpenter, Fjord helped define a clean, clarity first standard in Berlin while supplying a wide network of European coffee bars. The roastery’s stated mission to uncover rare and unique flavours shows in selective, often exotic lots that still land measured and origin true, supported by producer first communication.
Background
Founded in Berlin in 2016 by Morgan Love of Silo and Kresten Thøgersen of Father Carpenter, Fjord was created to roast for their coffee bars and a wider wholesale community. Fjord states its mission simply, to uncover the rarest and most unique flavours in coffee, and builds its identity around that pursuit with careful selection and light, clarity focused roasting. Production is based in Marzahn at Zur Alten Börse 79, and the brand remains closely linked to its partner coffee bars while supplying a broad roster of accounts across Europe.

Panel evaluation
Fjord’s cups feel composed and bright, with sweetness up front and a clear line of acidity that holds as the coffee cools. Classic washed profiles read tidy and structured, while the pursuit of rare and exotic lots often brings fruit forward aromatics that stay inside a clean frame rather than turning loud. Labels and product pages make the producer easy to spot with variety, process, and harvest set out plainly, so connecting flavor to place is straightforward. Across seasons the style keeps its shape, reading modern and measured rather than showy.
